Modern Manufacturing Needs Skilled Workers with Automation Training

June 22, 2020
The need for skilled workers with automation training certifications is growing. According to the Manufacturing Institute, there are over 600,000 unfilled manufacturing positions in the US, but many applicants lack the skills and training to do the job. In the next ten years, this gap is expected to grow with well over two million manufacturing jobs predicted to go unfilled as the number of manufacturing jobs requiring higher skills continues to outpace the pool of trained candidates.
Today, FANUC has over 1,250 educational partnerships throughout the Americas. All FANUC education programs adhere to national ANSI/IACET standards, and meet the nationally recognized certifications approved by the Departments of Labor (DOL) and Education (DOE).
If you’re a school looking to ramp up your technical training programs, FANUC's sales representatives will assist you in putting together a strong education curriculum to attract the next generation workforce.
If you’re a business and need to collaborate with a school that has a CNC and robotic training program, FANUC will talk with you about your goals and help you make the right connections.

Just two years after Kaunis Iron started production of iron ore in Kaunisvaara, the company is planning a new open pit mine. An important part of that plan is SmartROC D65 rigs – and an arrangement where the rigs are regularly serviced on site by Epiroc personnel.
The November sky is clear in Kaunisvaara, and the morning sun has lit up the north side of the mine. Half-way down into the mine, two SmartROC D65 drill rigs are working, and in front of them are two rows with sticks. They have been stuck into the ground, each in its own drill hole with yellow plastic tubing, which makes the hole easier to load.

Conversations about automation technology and design often focus on one thing – the technology itself. We think of the high-tech robots, the automated conveyors, or the precision welding machines that make it possible for factories to operate more efficiently, productively, and safely.
However, any discussions around automation technology need to include the most important element – the people.
