Pfannenberg, a leading global manufacturer of thermal management technologies, highlights Filterfans filter mats, uniquely efficient filter media for electrical enclosure filter fans. These unique Pfannenberg fluted filter mats extend service life by 300% vs. traditional filter media.

With over 60 years of filter fan experience, Pfannenberg reengineered the filter mat for 4th generation Filterfans to optimize airflow and reliability. Filterfans 4.0 spin optimized fins and rotor blades to maximize airflow with minimal energy consumption. As a result, the system employs high-performance louvers that expand surface area on filter mats.

Featuring an innovative fluted design, these filter mats enable increased airflow efficiency without compromising durability. While easily installed in seconds with only a single hand, Filterfans filter mats require less frequent replacement—extending service life by 300%. This efficient and capable design earns Filterfans NEMA Type 12 certification.

In all, Filterfans 4.0 combine 11 field-proven patented features for an industry-leading cooling solution. Options include NEMA Type 3R/4/4X / IPx6 Washdown Rainhoods, UV Protected Plastic for use in direct sunlight, EMC shielding to attenuate RF signals and exhausting fans for custom applications.

For dirty, dusty, gaseous, humid, or chemically-contaminated environments that require a closed loop system to protect electronics, Pfannenberg’s PKS Series Air to Air Heat Exchangers provide additional protection. These units are ideal for cooling industrial electrical and IT components, sensors and drives on outdoor systems, and food and beverage industry enclosures. Low maintenance and easy to install, PKS Series Air to Air Heat Exchangers feature new Pfannenberg Kinetic System air-to-air technology, taking advantage of a cooler ambient environment to operate with approximately 1/3 of the power required by a traditional industrial AC unit for greater energy efficiency and reduced operating expense.

One of Canada’s largest wastewater treatment plants at Annacis Island provides secondary treatment to approximately 175 billion litres of wastewater every year for over 1 million residents in 14 municipalities. After almost 20 years in operation, the variable frequency drives supporting the critical pumping systems for the primary treatment and secondary treatment facilities had to be replaced to ensure that the plant’s high operational availability and reliability will not be compromised in serving the plant, the surrounding municipalities and the environment. Metro Vancouver Regional District chose to deploy Rittal’s enclosure and power distribution solutions with E-plan software to efficiently support vital infrastructure improvements by reducing equipment replacement times and thereby minimizing risk to plant operations.

The Friedhelm Loh Group is taking over IoTOS, enhancing Industrial IoT like never before!

Friedhelm Loh Group“Data is the new raw material”, Dr Friedhelm Loh said back in 2016 when laying the foundation stone for Rittal's new factory in Haiger. The world’s most advanced automated and digitally integrated production of small and compact enclosures is currently being started up and already generating 18 terabytes of data every day. Furthermore, today Rittal, German Edge Cloud and IoTOS are now offering the first real-time comprehensive solution for edge cloud-based data management and data availability along the entire supply chain, from usage via intelligent analysis and to secure and customer-controlled data transfer in a highly efficient overall environment.

Schunk: Magic of tombstones and pyramids

SchunkAt first glance unspectacular – but on closer inspection more versatile than virtually any other clamping device: tombstones and clamping pyramids are have regarded as somewhat mystical, probably because they also change their appearance from machine to machine. When used carefully, they multiply the number of workpieces in the machine room and thus offer ideal preconditions for reducing idle time and catapulting the unmanned machine running time upwards with high flexibility – provided that the clamping devices are carefully matched to this.
