Lovato: New Range of Safety Relays SR… Series

June 29, 2023

LOVATO Electric, always mindful of the need for safety, has expanded its catalogue with the new SR… series safety relays.

Designed to cover the most common risk categories, LOVATO Electric safety relays are rated up to category 4 with performance level PLe stated by the EN/ISO/BS 13849-1 functional safety standard, which is part of the Machinery Directive framework.

The SRB… series has been designed to handle emergency stops, safety switches, magnetic sensors and mechanical safety interlocks. The offering also includes an expansion module of safe outputs which expands the number of available relay outputs and thus makes it possible to control multiple machines at the same time.

The new series’ coverage of numerous applications with a small number of individual codes greatly simplifies stock management. But they don’t only save you money: with their compact footprint, the units save space inside the electrical panel, with SRB… series modules boasting a width of just 17.8 mm.

Thanks to their special removable screw terminals, SR… series relays are easy to hook up, which means fast installation and fewer cabling errors. The front panel diagnostics LEDs make it easy to troubleshoot faults on external control circuits. The new safety relays are homologated cULus for the North American market and TÜV for conformity with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

  • Littelfuse SPD2 1P+0 Series Surge Protection

The SPD2 1P+0 series is a surge protection device that safeguards components from transient overvoltage or surges that last micro-seconds by limiting the fault current to a load or the unit being protected. The majority of surges are caused by equipment being turned on or off within a facility. By limiting these surges, costly damage, downtime, repairs, and missed deadlines can be mitigated. The surge protection devices for the 1+0 configuration are available for 60 V to 600 V nominal voltage sub-distribution board applications.

Altech Corp Announces Advanced Fan Monitoring Modules for Industrial Equipment Protection

Altech Corporation has announced its new CFTD fan monitoring modules, designed to protect industrial equipment through intelligent fan current monitoring and temperature control. The series includes three models: CFTD2 (two-fan), CFTD4 (four-fan standard) and CFTDPR4 (four-fan with AC power redundancy). Each system features precision current monitoring with configurable over- and under-current thresholds and automatic calibration that establishes baseline parameters for accurate fault detection. Models also include three-wire RTD sensor inputs for temperature monitoring with programmable set points and 4–20mA analog output for integration with building management systems. Three fault recovery methods boost operational flexibility: alarm-only, manual reset or automatic retry with 30-second intervals. The flagship CFTDPR4 offers AC power redundancy, automatically switching to backup fans when primary power fails and ensuring continuous cooling during power faults.
