Hammond Power Solutions Increases North American Manufacturing Capacity

New facility expected to expand capacity by approximately CAD $250 million annually, with potential for approximately CAD $400 million upon full site build-out. Hammond Power Solutions announced that it has signed a long-term lease for a new manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The facility will expand HPS’s ability to serve U.S-based customers requiring large standard and custom-engineered transformers. The Fort Worth facility is strategically located to improve proximity to key customers, shorten delivery distances for certain products, and enhance HPS’s ability to serve core end markets.

Government of Canada Invests CAD $195 Million in Xanadu to Build Up Advanced Quantum Manufacturing in Canada

On August 28, 2026, the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, announced a federal investment of $195 million, through the Strategic Response Fund, in Xanadu Quantum Technologies’ $893 million project to expand its research and development facility and establish advanced manufacturing capabilities in Canada. Canada is building the capacity to compete in the industries of the future. This project will create 275 high-quality jobs and add the specialized facilities needed to develop, manufacture and commercialize quantum technologies in Canada. It will also support partnerships with Canadian research institutions and small and medium-sized businesses, helping turn more Canadian ideas into Canadian products and jobs.
