Unitary Systems, Heat Pumps, Furnaces, Boilers, VRF Systems, Chillers, and Geothermal Heat Pumps for Energy Efficient Buildings

The unsustainable use of resources has become increasingly problematic worldwide as the impacts of environmental changes materialize. Concerns over environmental degradation and energy consumption are fundamental to the energy efficiency standards that drive today’s building operations. Performance standards for energy efficient buildings largely focus on HVAC systems, which account for almost half of the total energy consumed by commercial buildings.

Advancing trends in energy technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), demand response, and grid connectivity represent a global movement toward the electrification and regeneration of energy ecosystems. These innovative technologies support Energy Cloud platforms such as Building-to-Grid, Transportation-to-Grid, and Smart Cities. Efficient HVAC technologies are enabling these connections to the grid to become energy and demand savings for commercial buildings by optimizing equipment operations while maintaining thermal comfort for building occupants. According to Navigant Research, global revenue for energy efficient commercial HVAC systems is expected to increase from $29.4 billion in 2018 to $61.2 billion in 2027.

Mouser: Industrial Ethernet vs Fieldbus – Architecture, TSN & Migration

Fieldbuses once replaced bundles of wiring with shared, deterministic networks. For years, they carried control signals reliably and predictably. However, as equipment, sensors, and data systems proliferated, fieldbus limitations emerged. The central issue today is real-time operational visibility. Engineers need networks that move control data, diagnostics, and process information across the plant as reliably as… Read More…
