Adrian Thomas has been announced by Hammond Power Solutions Inc. as the Company’s next Chief Executive Officer, replacing Bill Hammond who will assume the position of Executive Chairman after 22 years as the CEO. Mr. Thomas will also be appointed to HPS’ Board of Directors. The announcement follows an extensive search process conducted by the Board of Directors which included the evaluation of highly qualified internal and external candidates and was aided with the support of an executive search firm.

For the second time within five years, a key figure at Universal Robots (UR), the Danish manufacturer of collaborative robots (cobots), has been awarded the world’s most prestigious robotics prize, the Joseph F. Engelberger Robotics Award, often described as the Nobel Prize of robotics. The business employs around 600 people and generated revenues of approximately $63 million in 2021. The acquisition of this business is part of the Motion business area’s profitable growth strategy. It strengthens ABB’s position as an industrial NEMA motor manufacturer, and it provides an even stronger platform from which ABB can better serve its global customers.
RTI has recently announced that Josh Litwack has joined the company as Vice President of Global Sales, reporting to CEO Joe Roberts. In this new role, Litwack will oversee all RTI sales activities and work with the RTI leadership team to develop new initiatives that support dealers and grow the RTI and Pro Control brands worldwide, plus the Blustream brand in the US and Latin America.

Convergix Automation Solutions, an automation solutions company backed by private equity firm Crestview Partners, has completed the acquisition of Eagle Technologies, a Bridgman, Michigan-based systems integrator specializing in turnkey automated production and testing solutions. Following Convergix’s acquisitions of JMP Solutions in August 2021, Classic Design in February 2022, and AGR Automation in August 2022, Eagle marks the fourth acquisition in Crestview’s strategy to build Convergix into a diversified automation solutions provider.
