75 Years of WAGO, Celebrating Connections

2026 is the 75th anniversary of the founding of WAGO. But that’s not the only reason to celebrate: The company’s latest financial results also bring welcome news. In the 2025 fiscal year, the WAGO Group achieved an 8% increase in revenue over the previous year; total revenue rose to EUR 1.34 billion.

At the close of the 2025 fiscal year, the WAGO Group had positive revenue trends to report: This provider of electrical interconnection technology, automation technology, and interface electronics increased its total revenue from EUR 1.24 billion in 2024 to EUR 1.34 billion in 2025, corresponding to 8% growth over the previous year. 2026 is an important anniversary for WAGO, and this year it once again demonstrates its competitiveness, supported over 75 years through strategic investments and the dedication of its employees around the world, who number about 9,000.

WAGO has maintained a presence in Canada for many years, with a strategic decision to expand that presence formalized in 2018 through the establishment of WAGO Canada. Since then, the organization has grown into a national operation with regional sales and application support across Canada supporting OEMs, integrators, and panel builders across key industrial sectors. The Canadian team includes regional sales coverage across Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada, supported by field application specialists, a dedicated automation team, that develops application-specific solutions for customer deployments.

This local structure is reinforced by customer service and operations resources based in Canada, enabling faster response times and direct support for Canadian customers. The organization’s focus aligns with growth areas including packaging, energy, data centres, and building automation, where demand for reliable electrical interconnection and flexible automation solutions continues to increase.

Global Growth Continues Across Markets & Investments

The 2025 fiscal year shows that WAGO can generate growth even under challenging market conditions – through responsible use of resources and targeted investments in future technologies. At the same time, as we consider the innovative strength that has sustained us for the past 75 years, our anniversary in 2026 inspires us to bring this same strength to bear to shape the next 75.

The WAGO Group’s strongest revenue driver was the electrical interconnection technology business. Automation technology saw the strongest relative growth. Successful national and international projects in building automation, building installation, and the data center sector contributed significantly to the 2025 fiscal year’s strong financial results.

Germany remains WAGO’s most significant single market, accounting for 25% of its revenue. The other European markets combined represent 44% of total revenue, while the global markets outside Europe account for 31%. Thus, compared to the previous fiscal year, WAGO’s revenue distribution has shifted slightly towards international growth regions.

To ensure sustainable growth, this family-owned company has invested EUR 125 million in expanding its capacity worldwide.

With these investments, we are creating the infrastructure we need to meet global demand more efficiently and reliably. At the same time, these strategic decisions not only enhance our operational performance within Europe, but also bring us closer to our customers and enable faster localized solutions,” emphasizes WAGO CEO/CFO Jürgen Koopsingraven.

An Anniversary that Highlights Connections

“As the global market leader in spring pressure connection technology and a growing force in automation, we at WAGO see our anniversary in 2026 not just as an opportunity to reflect on the past, but also as a springboard towards a connected, sustainable future – for our customers, our markets, and our employees,” says WAGO CEO/CFO Jürgen Koopsingraven.

To mark its anniversary in 2026, WAGO will be showcasing these connections under the slogan “75 Years of WAGO. Celebrating Connections” and highlighting the continuity that underlies its growth.

Founded on April 27, 1951, in Minden, the company has evolved from a regional pioneer into a reliable partner for demanding applications in industry, infrastructure, and buildings. Spring pressure technology marked a breakthrough in electrical interconnection and has been the basis of many further milestones: from the first plastic connectors in the 1960s, to junction box connectors, to lever-operated splicing connectors like the 221 series. In the mid-1990s, the company also expanded into modular automation with the WAGO I/O System 750.

Since that time, its developments in this domain have included forward-looking solutions for digitization and the energy transition. Thanks to innovations like these, as well as constant further refinement of existing products, WAGO’s portfolio is now in high demand around the world, allowing it to gradually expand its international market presence.

To mark the anniversary of its foundation, WAGO launched a special webpage on April 27 showcasing highlights from its 75-year history, including stories, photos, and videos. The page is available at: https://www.wago.com/ca-en/wago-turns-75

Techspan: Automotive Circuit Protection Products – A B2B Buyer’s Guide for Distributors

Automotive circuit protection is not a one-size-fits-all category, especially for distributors supplying repair shops, fleet operators, OEM channels, aftermarket installers, and industrial buyers.
