Moxa Whitepaper – Five Key Considerations When Implementing Secure Remote Access to Your IIoT Machines
With greater connectivity comes greater risk for security threats. These threats can take many forms, from bad actor hackers to well-intentioned mistakes. Cybersecurity events can impact network availability, interrupt operations and halt productivity.
With system survivability being a key concern to regulators, building managers, and the public, Siemens has developed systems that are designed to meet and exceed regulations that protect people, property, and assets.
Running a motor directly from the power source produces uniform, sinusoidal waveforms but wastes energy due to continuous speed operation regardless of the load requirements. To enhance efficiency, variable frequency drives (VFDs) control motor speed, reduce energy consumption, and minimize equipment wear. However, VFDs use pulse-width modulation (PWM) to supply electrical pulses instead of a true voltage waveform, generating harmful harmonics that can damage motors, cables, and bearings.
The Power of Collaboration in Machine Design. Successful machine integration in the automation industry hinges on collaboration among various stakeholders, including plant management, operators, engineers, safety officers, and IT teams. This collaborative approach is essential for balancing metrics, best practices, quality, risk, and security. Given the unique nature of each project and the rapid pace of technological changes, machine builders play a crucial role in bridging the gap between early adopters and those lagging behind. By providing expertise and technology, they help users make informed decisions and improve efficiency, fostering a data-first culture that values the contributions of all team members.
By Krystie Johnston – Building operations account for 30% of global final energy consumption and 26% of global energy-related emissions. This sector, if entirely net zero, would contribute a significant percentage to reduced CO2 emissions worldwide1. In fact, technologies exist already to help buildings reach net zero today. Robert Palajsa, Territory manager for the smart power and smart buildings division for southern Ontario at ABB Canada discusses what ABB has to offer and how companies and industries can expedite their path to net zero, starting right now.
Evolve Additive Solutions has succeeded in combining the flexibility of additive technology with the volume and quality of injection molding. Featuring a fully integrated B&R automation system, the Evolve SVP platform delivers the precision and reliability to make additive manufacturing a real alternative for high-speed, mass-customized serial production.

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.
Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.

Convergix Automation Solutions has completed the acquisition of AGR Automation (“AGR”), a UK-based provider of custom, high-performance automation design and systems integration primarily to the life sciences industry.
Following Convergix’s acquisitions of JMP Solutions in August 2021 and Classic Design in February 2022, AGR marks the third investment in Crestview’s strategy to build Convergix into a diversified automation solutions provider targeting the global $500+ billion market, with a particular focus on the $70 billion global systems integration and connectivity segments. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

When you’re trying to keep an electrical job moving, you don’t have time for long lead times or wrestling with a box in the field. Panelboards should be the easy part: available when you need them, straight-forward to install, and reliable once they’re in. That’s why E.B. Horsman & Son is proud to carry Siemens… Read More…

Industrial systems create large volumes of data as they implement predictive maintenance and automation. Global data generation reached 181 zettabytes (ZB) in 2025, with estimates predicting 221ZB in 2026. Moving all that data to the cloud can overwhelm networks and slow response times. The latency of round-trip data to the cloud can range from tens… Read More…
