Panduit Launches 400G Next Generation CS Connector to Optimize Data Center Fiber to Rack Density

As bandwidth speeds continue to increase, 200G/400G applications are becoming commonplace in high performance data center environments, requiring enhanced capabilities at the rack level. Panduit has recently launched the CS Connector, a high-density fiber connector solution that optimizes the data center for next generation applications. Its compact size enables breakout mode options and improves compute density for 25G-400G deployments. The CS Connector is available for unitary Singlemode and Multimode fiber options.

Complex applications including AI and Machine Learning are driving the need for higher data density in the rack and increased data per port. CS connectors offer an elegant solution by enabling two duplex CS patch cords (four fibers) to fit in QSFP-DD and OSFP transceivers. This doubles the number of fibers compared to LC patch cords and enables 200G per port today and 400G in the future. Panduit’s CS Fiber Patch Cords and Cassettes also provide 40% greater port density per rack unit (RU) than LC Connectors when used in Panduit’s HD Flex Fiber Cabling system.

The Push-Pull Connector and unitary cable design reduce congestion in pathways and allow easy access in high-density applications without disturbing adjacent circuits. This is important as CS Connector-based solutions can offer up to 216 connections per RU compared to only 144 connections using LC Connectors. The new small form factor CS Connectors allow for a reduced connectivity footprint which enables more efficient space utilization in hyperscale, multi-tenant and large data center environments.

LOVATO: VLG30150A480 – Variable Speed Drive, VLG3 Series

LOVATO Electric expands its range of variable speed drives with the new VLG3 series, including the VLG30150A480 with three-phase power supply 380, 480VAC 50/60Hz. The range includes sizes from 0.4 to 22kW and integrates an EMC filter and a braking chopper as standard. The compact enclosure allows side-by-side installation, with the possibility of mounting on a DIN rail or with screws. On the front of the drive, there is a keypad with a 7-segment LED display for configuration, a potentiometer for frequency adjustment, and an RJ45 connector for connecting peripheral devices such as the optional remote keypad or the cable for PC connection for programming via VLGXSW software. The hardware equipment is completed by the built-in RS485 serial port with Modbus-RTU protocol, for interfacing in a control and supervision network or communication with masters such as PLC or HMI. Alternatively, the drive can be equipped with an Ethernet communication port via an optional Modbus-TCP module that installs on the front. The range is cULus certified, an essential requirement for sale in the North American market.

High Performance Natural Gas Distribution Flowmeter Now Part of Endress+Hauser Lineup

Just added to the Endress+Hauser Canada product portfolio, the multiple award-winning FLOWSIC500 compact ultrasonic flowmeter offers natural gas distributors and gas processors industry recognized excellence in custody transfer and delivery point metering that requires no routine maintenance. Developed by SICK, Endress+Hauser’s new strategic partner for process automation, FLOWSIC500 now is sold and supported solely by the latter and by Endress+Hauser authorized representatives. Unlike mechanical positive displacement gas flowmeters, FLOWSIC500 has no moving parts to fail and no bearings to oil or oil reservoirs to fill. The meter’s on-board diagnostics are constantly monitoring the instrument’s health, sending an alarm in the case of contamination or a change in the performance of its electronic components; maintenance only is required if it signals a need. That makes it a rugged, reliable and low-maintenance device with time-proven technology assuring long service life with continuing operator cost savings.
