Festo’s new VMEF/VHEF directional control valves put precision actuation literally at your fingertips, or even just a pinky. A single finger can be used to activate these valves – or a hand, or a workpiece making contact with a trigger mechanism. These valves are based on touch actuation with minimal force – there is no energy to convert, no long cables or additional response time.
The newest additions to Balluff’s line of distance sensors feature selectable modes that allow users to choose between IO-Link, voltage (0…10 V or 1…10 V), or analog (4…20 mA) outputs. The two new variations — the BOD002M with a 50 to 100 mm working distance and a resolution down to 10 μm, and the BOD002N with a 50 to 650 mm working distance and a resolution down to 100 μm — combine the output modes of three previous models into one.

The Japanese electronic and machine manufacturing company Fanuc introduced its lightweight cobot at the International Robot Exhibition (iREX) in Tokyo. The new CRX-10iA weighs significantly less than Fanuc’s CR series, where the lightest model was 48kg. The manufacturer did not specify the exact weight of the new generation of cobots. According to Fanuc, the new, lighter industrial robots can be used as handling units for driverless transport systems , amongst other uses.
