Moxa Whitepaper – Five Key Considerations When Implementing Secure Remote Access to Your IIoT Machines
All cables and wires that contribute to communication in any way are commonly referred to as data cables. However, there are significant differences such as the multitude of structures including copper and fiber optics, for example. Copper data cables come in many different types: low-frequency, coaxial, telephone, and bus cables, diverse Ethernet systems, or microwave cables for special applications that require gigahertz transmission rates. Selecting the wrong cable can quickly lead to costly disruptions and errors.
Rockwell Automation has released the cybersecurity findings from its 10th annual “State of Smart Manufacturing Report.” Drawing insights from more than 1,500 manufacturing leaders across 17 of the top manufacturing countries, the report reflects how cybersecurity is becoming a central business issue. One third of respondents have direct information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) cybersecurity responsibilities. As manufacturers advance smart operations, the integration between IT and OT increases the risk of cyberattacks. The report shows that manufacturers are beginning to use artificial intelligence (AI) to help manage these risks to strengthen protection.
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) have become essential across modern industrial and commercial environments—but what makes them so valuable? A VFD, also known as an AC Drive or Inverter, is an electronic device that precisely controls the speed and torque of an AC motor. By adjusting the frequency and voltage supplied to the motor, a VFD delivers smooth acceleration, reduced inrush current, and efficient variable-speed operation. Whether you’re optimizing energy consumption or improving process control, the VFD is at the heart of smarter motor-driven systems. The NOARK Ex9VF7 series VFD is engineered for precise control of AC motors—managing speed, torque, and direction effortlessly. Designed for pumps, fans, conveyors, and countless industrial processes, the Ex9VF7 improves energy efficiency and system performance across the board.

The city of Vancouver is the first Canadian jurisdiction to pass a by-law regulating building emissions. The Annual Greenhouse Gas and Energy Limits bylaw will come into effect June 1st, 2024, and requires building owners for large commercial offices, retail, and residential buildings over 100,000 sq ft to report their emissions. The bylaw follows cities like Washington, Boston, and New York who have enacted similar measures in an effort to reduce building emissions.

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.
Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
