ACWU90 Vs. Aluminum TECK90: How to Ensure You’re Using the Right Cable for Safety & Performance
In electrical installations, choosing the right cable is critical for safety and performance.
For industrial applications like petrochemical plants or hazardous locations, Northern Cables’ TECK90 delivers exceptional durability and crush resistance. TECK90 is available in 1000-volt constructions from #8 to 750 kcmil in 8000 series aluminum ACM conductor. Cables can be manufactured in single conductor up to 4 conductors. Custom cables are available upon request including composites, vertical riser, and coloured jackets.
For residential and commercial projects, their ACWU90 offers reliable performance, especially in moisture-prone settings, while meeting Canadian Electrical Code standards. ACWU90 cables are manufactured with one two, three, or four 8000 series aluminum ACM conductors insulated with RW90 cross-linked polyethylene rated at 600 volts from #8 AWG to 750 MCM. The bonding conductor is bare aluminum. These cables are made identically to the copper-based ones.
Each cable is designed for specific environments, ensuring your wiring is up to the task.
