Phoenix Contact’s Emalytics Building Management System Combines Control, Automation, Visualization & Cloud Connectivity into a Single Integrated Platform

The long-term goal is to make all building data available centrally and consistently throughout its entire lifecycle. This requires a fully digitalized engineering process in which information is entered only once, stored in a structured manner, and processed across systems.

At the heart of this engineering workflow is BACtwin, which serves as a digital twin of the TBU (technical building utilities) at the aggregate level. BACtwin digitally maps the functional structure of a building system. The digital twin serves as a digital toolkit that not only simplifies the creation of circuit diagrams but also lays the groundwork for subsequent programming and visualization in Emalytics.

As an IoT-based building management system from Phoenix Contact, Emalytics combines control, automation, visualization, and cloud connectivity into a single integrated platform. In its role as the central control system in the building, Emalytics ensures the intelligent networking of all trades of the TBU. The management system provides the perfect technological basis for digitalization in the building.

The integration and standardization of data from the various data sources into a central data model ensures a high level of data consistency across the system. Enriching the data with additional meta information improves the data access options. This enables the technical systems in the building to be precisely monitored and controlled. The open architecture of the framework enables simple system integration and is ideal for smart buildings. With Emalytics, the building becomes a data hub and therefore the key to the digital transformation in facility management.
