Beistle Company Wins Big with Yaskawa’s MotoMini Robot

October 3, 2019

The winner of Yaskawa Motoman’s recent “Win a MotoMini” contest is the Beistle Company (Shippensburg, PA). The contest, held in conjunction with the launch of Yaskawa Motoman’s Smart Series product line was held at Automate 2019 (April 8-11, McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois).

The Smart Series suite of products, including the MotoMini robot, enables quick and easy implementation of a robot system. Only weighing 7 kg, the MotoMini robot provides high-speed application flexibility in small part handling and assembly applications.

The winning entry was submitted by Caleb Crawford, an electromechanical technician at the Beistle Company – the largest manufacturer of decorations and party goods in the United States. Anticipated for use in a small-parts picking application, the MotoMini robot was presented to Caleb and the rest of the Beistle automation group in early June at the company’s manufacturing headquarters.

“As a company we’ve experienced the strong return on investment that robotic automation can bring to the table,” said Jody Messich, Manager of Machine Development and Production Automation at Beistle Company. “And, we’re excited to begin the MotoMini integration process and document our progress with the robot on the production floor.”

Over 230 entries were received. Participants could register to win at over 30 designated Yaskawa Motoman partner booths located throughout the Automate trade show hall.
