Celebrating the 1 Year Anniversary of Measurement & Controls Ltd. (MCL) Joining EBH!

A year ago, E.B. Horsman & Son (EBH) acquired Alberta-based company Measurement & Controls Ltd. (MCL). As a result, E.B. Horsman & Son process instrumentation, automation, and controls (PAC) divisions have grown into a strong team of 30 knowledgeable product experts. Over the past year MCL’s historical customers have benefited from EBH’s inventory and supply chain management while EBH has benefited from MCL’s many best practices including customer training programs and application knowledge base. We look forward to further strengthening our team and increasing the service levels to our industrial customers in Western Canada.

    Siemens to Establish Global AI Manufacturing Technologies R&D Center for Battery Production in Canada

    Siemens will invest CAD$150 million (ca. €97 million) over five years to establish a Global AI Manufacturing Technologies Research and Development (R&D) Center for Battery Production in Canada. The new R&D center, located initially at Siemens Canada’s head office in Oakville, as well as in Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, will focus on developing cutting-edge AI manufacturing technologies with an initial emphasis on battery and electric vehicle (EV) production. It will leverage Siemens’ expertise in AI, edge computing, machine vision, digital twins, and cybersecurity to drive innovation and efficiency in battery production, while fostering collaboration with higher education institutions and battery manufacturers. Expected outcomes of the work to be conducted at the R&D center include higher, consistent quality in battery production, increased workforce productivity and capacity, reduction of battery scrap, and improved recycling and circularity. With the Global AI Manufacturing Technologies R&D Center for Battery Production, Siemens will contribute to the Canadian government’s strategy to become a global leader in battery manufacturing.

    Rittal & PULS Enter Technology Partnership to Accelerate Panel Building

    Two major technology experts are joining forces to accelerate panel building: Rittal and PULS have agreed on a new technology partnership to drive more efficiency and speed in machine and plant engineering. Convergix Automation Solutions has completed the acquisition of AGR Automation (“AGR”), a UK-based provider of custom, high-performance automation design and systems integration primarily to the life sciences industry.

Following Convergix’s acquisitions of JMP Solutions in August 2021 and Classic Design in February 2022, AGR marks the third investment in Crestview’s strategy to build Convergix into a diversified automation solutions provider targeting the global $500+ billion market, with a particular focus on the $70 billion global systems integration and connectivity segments.
