Three Decades of Growth and Success in North America

April 11, 2023

Celebrating growth and success for over 30 years

The US subsidiary SCHUNK Intec Inc. celebrated an important milestone on February 17, 2023. “Over the past 30 years, SCHUNK has become a true household name in the American market,” Henrik A. Schunk proudly stated. Now, solutions from SCHUNK can be found in American production facilities in every industry, from automotive to high-tech companies such as Space-X. “Establishing this kind of a respected brand is something we can be justifiably proud of,” Schunk asserted. He has a special relationship with the Morrisville site, having run the Intec there himself for several years.

First production outside Germany

SCHUNK’s third international subsidiary was founded in August 1992 to gain a foothold in the American market and to be closer to the customer. SCHUNK opened its first production site outside Germany in Morrisville, North Carolina in 1996. Today, SCHUNK USA employs a total of 172 people in every area. At the facility, the team manufactures automation modules, hydraulic expansion toolholders and custom products on 85,000 square meters of production space. The SCHUNK subsidiary plays a leading role in the group of companies for the entire North American market.

Hand in hand toward success

Milton Guerry, President of Intec USA, congratulated everyone who has played a part in this success: “After three successful decades, I would like to thank the team in the USA for their dedication, customer support, and unwavering determination to succeed!” The fact that the employees are the foundation of this success was also emphasized by Kristina I. Schunk: “The team has gone above and beyond with full commitment and has been ready to adapt to changes. This example shows what we can achieve when we work hand in hand.” She sees the 30th anniversary as a foundation for further growth. “Today, we celebrate not only our past, but our future!”
