New PROTECT Series Signaling Devices: Engineered to Thrive in the Harshest Environments and Meet the Highest Standards for Performance & Safety

At Pfannenberg, they are committed to redefining what’s possible in industrial safety and signaling. Following their tradition of innovation, they are excited to unveil the new PROTECT Series, a robust line of signaling devices engineered to thrive in the harshest environments and meet the highest standards for performance and safety.

Build for the Toughest Environments

The PROTECT Series sets a new standard for signaling durability, featuring a virtually unbreakable die-cast aluminum housing. This rugged construction ensures reliability across a wide range of industries, from fire alarm and marine applications to machine safety, functional safety, and hazardous areas. Whether you’re dealing with extreme weather, heavy impacts, or challenging industrial settings, the PROTECT Series is designed to deliver dependable performance where it matters most.

Versatile Solutions for Complex Needs

The series includes both sounders and combined sounder-light devices, available with six different lens colors and options for either Xenon or LED visual signaling. This flexibility allows you to tailor your signaling solution to your specific application, ensuring maximum visibility and audibility.

Key Features at a Glance

  • Certified for Safety: The PROTECT Series meets stringent industrial standards, including Safety Integrity Level (SIL), Marine Equipment Directive, and UL Class 1 Division 2 Explosion Proof certifications. This ensures suitability for critical safety applications and hazardous locations.
  • Selectable Tones: With 80 tones and four externally selectable additional tones, you have precise control over your signaling. The pre- and main alarm function helps prevent shock reactions by starting with a reduced sound level before escalating, enhancing safety for personnel.
  • Adjustable Sound Pressure: Dip switch settings provide seven adjustments from 86–116 dB, so you can match the sound output to your environment’s needs.
  • Outstanding Perceptibility: High sound penetration and multi-voltage compatibility reduce the number of devices required, streamlining installation and minimizing inventory.
  • Easy Installation: Designed for quick setup to help minimize downtime and installation costs.

Spotlight on PRO 10 & PRO X 10

PRO 10: This versatile sounder is certified for marine, functional safety, and explosion-proof requirements. With a maximum sound pressure level of 116 dB(A) and an IK09 impact-proof rating, it delivers clear, reliable signaling even in the noisiest or most hazardous environments.

PRO X 10-05: Combining audible and visual signaling, the PRO X 10-05 features a high-performance Xenon flash strobe light, 5 Joules, and a sound pressure level of 116 dB(A). Its robust housing meets IP66/IP67 and NEMA 4/4X standards, ensuring resistance to dust, water, and mechanical impacts. Visual alarms provide comprehensive coverage and reducing the number of devices needed for full protection.

Engineered for Efficiency & Safety

Much like Pfannenberg’s approach with the DHS Hybrid Series, where they combined energy efficiency with maximum uptime, the PROTECT Series was made to simplify safety management. Its multi-functional capabilities, broad certifications, and rugged construction for the harshest environments make it a strategic investment for any facility prioritizing safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.

Mouser: Industrial Ethernet vs Fieldbus – Architecture, TSN & Migration

Fieldbuses once replaced bundles of wiring with shared, deterministic networks. For years, they carried control signals reliably and predictably. However, as equipment, sensors, and data systems proliferated, fieldbus limitations emerged. The central issue today is real-time operational visibility. Engineers need networks that move control data, diagnostics, and process information across the plant as reliably as… Read More…
