New Space-Saving SSRs: Deliver Compact & Reliable Operation for Component Density Critical Applications

Littelfuse has announced its expanded offering to the industrial Solid-State Relays (SSRs) family of products. The additional three series of products and accessories are essential for industrial applications that demand reliable and compact switching and comply to international standards.

The expanded SSRs are available in three configurations plus added accessories:

  • SRP4-CC – Four relays in one, 4-pole design saves space by controlling multiple AC loads instead of using separate relays
  • SRP1-KC – Slim, low-profile that’s half the size of standard relays and featuring fast on terminals for easier installation
  • SRP1-ME – Small size, ¼ the size of a standard relay, for simple heating in space-constrained applications
  • Accessories – Off-the-shelf accessories to quickly start using or testing SSRs

“In many machinery applications, every inch of space counts. Our compact solid-state relays give our panel builder and machine manufacturer customers the ability to add reliable solid-state switching in high-density applications without sacrificing performance,” said Hugo Neri, Global Product Manager of Industrial Solid-State Relays at Littelfuse.

Typical Applications for These Products Include:

  • Industrial Machinery: Industrial ovens, sterilization systems, plastic sealing and packaging equipment
  • HVAC: Electric heaters, steam and spa equipment
  • Food & Beverage: Coffee machines, ovens, commercial fryers

With this expanded offering, Littelfuse reinforces its commitment to solid-state technology solutions. The space-saving series adds to the existing Littelfuse portfolio of panel mount, DIN-rail mount, PCB-mount solid-state-relays, HVAC solid-state timers, and power components such as SCRs and MOSFETs. This extensive range of products highlights the company’s commitment to innovation, offering customers high performance solutions that push new industry benchmarks.

    Building Towards Autonomous Operations

What is consistently heard from industry leaders is the need for real-time visibility across their global operations, which is key to ensuring their operations stay agile and scalable. However, achieving this isn’t possible without removing laggy manual data collection through the deployment of connected assets and contextualized data. By eliminating data silos and unlocking industrial data and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, companies can enable autonomous decision-making that optimizes costs, efficiency, and production resilience. This moves their organization closer to achieving autonomous operations. Manufacturing operations, in particular, have seen progress through Model Predictive Control (MPC), which continuously analyzes real-time and forecasted data to optimize process control within defined constraints. While MPC is a strong example within manufacturing, broader autonomy demands extending similar intelligent systems across the enterprise. This journey is captured in the industrial AI maturity pyramid, which outlines a progression from basic data integration and visualization to predictive analytics, prescriptive decision-making, and ultimately, autonomous operations. As organizations climb this pyramid, they adopt machine learning, real-time automation, and self-learning systems. Each stage requires not just technological upgrades but also cultural and structural transformation.
