picoMAX Pluggable Connection System: Compact Design Reduces Space by up to 30%

picoMAX is the compact pluggable connection system with a highly innovative design. It makes dual use of the contact force from a single Cr-Ni stainless steel spring to clamp the conductor and connect the header pin. This makes picoMAX even more compact than other pluggable connection system systems and sets new standards for wire-to-board, board-to-wire, wire-to-wire and panel feedthrough connections.

Features & Benefits

  • Compact design: Reduces space by up to 30%
  • Radically simplified contact system
  • Special design, innovative spring pressure connection technology and new insulation material guarantees absolute contact reliability – even at higher ambient temperatures
  • Very high vibration resistance of up to 20g for wire-to-board connections, thanks to integrated locking latches and a female connector that’s almost fully enshrouded in the male connector
  • Efficient testing via test slot parallel to connector entry

The Easiest Way to Make PCBs Pluggable

picoMAX eCOM is the even more economical and compact version without the pin housing for pluggable PCB applications. With 3.5, 5.0 and 7.5 mm (0.138, 0.197 and 0.295 inch) pin spacing, this system of pluggable female connectors for direct PCB soldering is ready for your low-cost applications.

Advantages:

  • Universal connection for all conductor types
  • Push-in CAGE CLAMP termination of both solid and ferruled conductors
  • Available as straight and angled PCB terminal blocks
  • Available for conductors ranging from 0.2 to 1.5 mm2 (24–14 AWG) (3.5 variant) as well as 0.2 to 2.5 mm2 (24–12 AWG) (5.0, 7.5 variant)
  • Preloaded solder pins enable direct soldering of the complete connector
  • Can be removed from the circuit board during maintenance like a pluggable connector
  • Connectors of different lengths can be assembled side-by-side without pole loss, maximizing space saving on the PCB
