Value Design for Panel Products: Discover OMRON’s Industrial Control Panel Solutions

By: OMRON Automation

OMRON has been manufacturing industrial control panel products for more than 80 years. Their entire portfolio is designed to help panel builders, machine builders, and end users reduce costs while saving time and space. This article discusses how OMRON’s industrial control panel products support scalable, modular machines with a smaller footprint, and highlights some of their electromechanical and solid-state relays that are prime examples of products that give builders more value.

How OMRON’s Industrial Control Panel Products Support Scalable, Modular Machines Value Design

Increasingly, panel builders and machine builders are seeking smaller control panel products that maximize limited panel space and can accommodate a wide range of devices for future expansion. OMRON’s Value Design for Panel products represent an evolution of control panel design and manufacturing by focusing on uniform dimensions, Push-In Play technology, and maximized functionality to help their customers gain a competitive edge.

.

Features of OMRON’s Value Design for Panels:

  • Uniform Dimensions: Uniform mounting height and depth reduces design work and overall volume, improves airflow and heat dissipation (reduced hot spots prolongs product life expectancies), and saves space inside the panel to add more capacity in the future
  • Push-In Plus Technology: Easy installation saves time and money by allowing installers to wire terminals quickly and easily without the need for tools and enables easier maintenance
  • Maximized Functionality: Predictive maintenance technologies built into industrial control panel products increases their functionality, and combining multiple products that share OMRON’s Value Design concept enhances value

OMRON’s industrial control panel portfolio offers a complete line up for control panel components that are designed around ease of use and flexibility. Their electromechanical and solid-state relays, for example, are designed with uniform dimensions that save space and make it easy for builders to design panels. Let’s look at a few of them: the G2RV-ST and the MY-GS-R electromechanical relays, and the G3RV-ST and G3NA solid-state relays.

G2RV-ST Electromechanical Relay

The G2RV-ST electromechanical relay is a 6mm slim industrial relay with terminal options. Because of its small size, customers can increase the panel space available and have room for more components. They have a locking lever arm along with Push-In Play wiring that saves time during installation and maintenance because the wires can simply be pushed in without the need for tools. They also come with an LED status indicator, which makes it easier to do a quick visual check of its status and function.

MY-GS-R Electromechanical Relay

The GS-R electromechanical relay is OMRON’s latest generation of their MYS relay. It is a miniature general purpose ice cube style relay that offers the same features as the MYS, such as unified component dimensions, Push-In Play technology, and industry certifications. It also adds an integrated mechanical indicator with an optional LED that allows the user to visually confirm that it is switching properly. The MY-GS-R adopts the best features of the MYS and the MY-GS and combines them into one product that meets customer demand.

The G3RV-ST has similar features as the G2RV-ST electromechanical relay but is a solid-state relay. At 6mm, its slim design allows for space saving in the panel so that builders can add more components in the same footprint. It follows OMRON’s Value Design for Panel products, such as uniform dimensions, Push-In Play technology, and maximized functionality. It also comes with an LED status indicator, which makes it easier to do a quick visual check of its status and function.

G3NA Solid-State Relay

The G3NA is hockey puck style of solid-state relay with 5-90A output currents. Its compact size – regardless of the model – ensures a uniform mounting pitch within the panel, saving space and optimizing air flow. An integrated varistor absorbs external surges, and its protective cover offers greater safety. It also comes with an operation indicator to enable easy visibility to monitor its operation.

Conclusion

OMRON has an extensive portfolio of industrial control panel products that have been designed to bring panel builders and machine builders components that are easy to install and maintenance, saving you time and money. They continue to innovate by listening to their customers to bring you products and solutions that give you a competitive advantage.

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
