After IMTS, Together Success Continues

At IMTS 2018, a simple invitation hung over Mazak’s booth: “Discover what we can do together.” And now that another fantastic show has unfolded at Chicago’s McCormick Place, we’re excited to talk about what we’ll discover together next.

As with every IMTS, we demonstrated our latest models designed to serve a wide range of markets, such as the QTU-350 MY HP and its new high-performance (HP) spindle configuration, as well as machines sporting new automation options, such as the VARIAXIS i-700 with MPP or the VARIAXIS i-300 AWC. But the stars of the show were clad in gray: Mazak’s HYBRID Multi-Tasking Series showed off the latest in additive and joining technologies – like FRICTION STIR WELDING (FSW), HOT WIRE AM and multi-laser metal deposition – paired with exceptional subtractive capabilities for true DONE IN ONE® part production.

Of course, exceptional machine tools require exceptional controls, and visitors to our booth saw the full range of SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY solutions we build into our MAZATROL Smooth CNCs. At our Digital Technology Plaza, we exhibited everything from the simple, effective connectivity made possible by SMOOTH LINK to the SMOOTH Gear Cutting package at the heart of machines such as the new INTEGREX e-1250V/8 AG. Additionally, because we can’t bring the show to Florence, Kentucky, we brought the Mazak iSMART Factory™ to IMTS, showing off what a fully connected factory can achieve with the power of MTConnect® and the Mazak SmartBox.
