Littelfuse: Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) & Energy Storage System (ESS)
The thermally activated fuse is the oldest circuit protection device and is still in widespread use. It is well understood, reliable, consistent, and approved by regulatory standards. However, with end products increasing in complexity and shrinking in size, designers need an alternative to the user-replaceable fuse and fuse holder in order to reduce the form factor, simplify assembly, improve ruggedness, and further enhance safety.
Amid the surging tide of the digital economy, the data center industry is ready for intelligent and green computing power. In response to this trend, NOARK presents a comprehensive range of data center solutions to support the digital economy. The world of today has become reliant on the power of digital intelligence, and to maintain the storage of all this information, there are over 11,000 public data centers worldwide, with almost 50% of them in North America. This trend will only continue with cryptocurrency, rise of AI, network traffic, and the expansion of the Industrial Internet of Things. Data centers accounted for about 1.5 percent of global electricity consumption in 2024, an amount expected to double by 2030 because of AI use. Due to this large energy demand, a significant number of power distribution components are necessary to provide power to these units. Moreover, Data Centers contain the most sensitive information, which needs to be safeguarded.
The openSAFETY safety bus protocol can now be transmitted via UDP using the black channel principle. This facilitates the use of wireless transmission technologies for safety communication. openSAFETY can be configured flexibly, making it particularly well suited for wireless data transmission
The scenario
A local manufacturing company had several high-speed production lines in their facility. After making changes to improve the design of one of their products, the existing system was unable to cure the new materials required by the company. In response, the company began sourcing a curing solution that would be able to bond the materials when they ran the new product.
Recently we had the chance to learn a little more about some of Festo’s output safety devices, with a focus primarily on the MS6-SV-E Safety Valve. Insight in this was provided from several Festo product specialists and a direct look at safety functions from Randy DeForge, Product Manager, Festo North America.
Motor Control Centers (MCCs) are the technological hubs controlling critical rotating equipment – such as submersible pumps, compressors, and pipeline boosters – across upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas operations. Given the enormous energy requirements and often hostile operating conditions characteristic of this sector, motor control centers are ground zero for one of the industry’s most serious electrical safety threats: the electric arc flash.

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.
Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
