AutomationDirect’s newest addition of A-coded sensor and signal connection cables from Murrelektronik provides easy and reliable connections between panels and field devices. These cables offer several configurations including axial or right-angle female M8 or M12 screw-lock connector to pigtail, axial male to axial female with M8 or M12 screw-lock connectors, and right-angle male to right-angle female with M8 or M12 screw-lock connectors.
AutomationDirect has added Leuze 28 series 18mm threaded rectangular sensors that feature flexible mounting options with front and bottom 18mm threads and 3.1mm through-holes, sensing distances up to 10m, and rugged ABS thermoplastic housings with an IP67 protection rating. These new photoelectric sensors are offered in diffuse, polarized retroreflective, and through-beam sensing styles, and in highly visible red LED or infrared models. Leuze 28 series photoelectric sensors are ideal for a variety of industrial applications such as material handling, packaging, wrapping, and sortation.
AutomationDirect has added new discrete and relay I/O expansion modules to the Productivity PLC family. For the Productivity1000 PLC series, a 4-channel, high current relay output module is now available. This module provides up to 7A/point for both DC and AC control circuits and features four Form C (normally open/normally closed) contacts. For the Productivity2000 PLC series, a 6-channel, high current (7A/point) relay output module is available. A 16-point low voltage discrete input module and a 16-point low voltage discrete output module have also been added. These modules work with devices that utilize transistor-transistor-logic (TTL) and voltage levels ranging from 3.3 to 5 VDC.
AutomationDirect has added a new line of laser sensors. Wenglor dark and shiny object detection photoelectric sensors use blue light technology to detect objects other photoelectric sensors cannot see or see objects that get detected multiple times erroneously.

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.
Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.

Most electromagnetic brakes work on a simple logic: apply current, apply braking. Remove current, release braking. For many industrial applications, conveyors, packaging lines, printing machines, this is exactly the right behavior. The brake engages on demand and releases when not needed. But for a significant class of machines, this logic is exactly backwards. Robots, vertical… Read More…

When selecting industrial electrical components, certification is more than a logo on a datasheet. A certification mark indicates that a product or component has been independently evaluated against specified requirements for its intended market. In North America, selecting products with the appropriate certification can affect regulatory acceptance, equipment certification, inspections and project completion. The key… Read More…
