ACIC Control Cable: Suitable for Use in Petro-Chemical, Pulp & Paper, and Other Industrial Application Environments
Northern Cables Inc’s ACIC Control Cable can be used in open and concealed wiring, direct burial and in hazardous locations.
The insulated conductors are made with cross-linked polyethylene and twisted with an uninsulated ground wire. The twisted core is covered with a PVC jacket, then either an aluminum or galvanized steel armour is applied, with a final Blue PVC jacket installed over the armour. The ACIC Control cable is suitable for use in petro-chemical, pulp and paper, and other industrial application environments.
ACIC Control cable is manufactured to CSA 22.2 # 239 and CSA 22.2 # 174 to allow it to meet certain CSA tests including; flame test FT4, -40°C cold impact test low acid gas and sunlight resistance.

- One (1) White, balance
- Black with number code
Bonding Conductor (Ground):
- One (1) bare stranded class “B” copper conductor
Inner Jacket:
- Sunlight Resistant Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), black
Armour:
- Aluminum interlocked armour
Outer Jacket:
- Low acid gas (AG14), flame-retardant, moisture and sunlight resistant Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), blue
Applications
- For concealed wiring in dry or wet locations
- For exposed wiring in dry or wet locations
- For exposed wiring where subjected to the weather
- For use in ventilated, non-ventilated and ladder-type cable trays in dry or wet locations
- For direct earth burial (with protection as required by inspection authority)
