Expanded BF Series Brings High Switching Performance to Panel Builders and OEMs in an Exceptionally Compact Footprint

LOVATO Electric expands its BF Series with high-power electromechanical contactors covering three-phase motor control currents from 420A to 630A in the AC3 category, or UL ratings from 350HP to 500HP at 480V. Engineered for demanding power applications, the new range brings high switching performance to panel builders and OEMs in an exceptionally compact footprint, extending the BF platform into a segment previously reserved for larger devices.

Despite their high ratings, these new contactors measure 190 millimeters (mm) in width for three-pole versions and 255 mm for four-pole versions, supporting more switching capacity within tighter enclosures. The IEC operating current Ith (AC1) ranges from 630A to 800A, providing reliable solutions across a broad set of power applications.

At the heart of these devices is an electronic coil that maximizes flexibility while reducing power consumption. Each contactor integrates:

  • Integrated electronic control for consistent, dependable operation
  • Built-in interference filter to protect surrounding electronics
  • Wide supply voltage range, simplifying specification and inventory across projects

Completing the range is a variety of accessories, including front and side auxiliary contacts, mechanical interlocks, power terminal protections and connection kits for building wye-delta starters or changeover switches. Together, they ensure versatility and easy integration into a wide variety of systems.

The new high-power contactors join LOVATO Electric’s proven BF Series, extending a portfolio that now covers rated currents up to 800A in AC1 and up to 630A in AC3 across three-pole and four-pole versions.

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
