Endress+Hauser, employees launch fund-raising for United Way across Canada

March 05, 2019

For Endress+Hauser Canada, allying with the United Way beginning this month ensures the benefits of staff charitable giving and volunteering will assist the communities in which they live.

Endress+Hauser is soliciting employee contributions from March 4-18, with a milestone goal of donating $15,000 to the United Way – $7,500 from employees and $7,500 in a matching donation from the company. Funds raised will go directly to the communities where Endress+Hauser staff are located: Montreal, Burlington, Edmonton and Calgary. Endress+Hauser employees also are being encouraged to volunteer their time throughout the year during company hours to support local United Way initiatives.

“At E+H, social responsibility is a key part of how we measure our success,” Anthony Varga, CEO and General Manager of Endress+Hauser Canada, said at today’s official launch of the in-house fund-raising drive, attended by officials from United Way Halton & Hamilton. “It’s part of our culture as one of the world’s most successful family-owned businesses to live up to a high standard in relating to our customers and communities. Working with the United Way means our donations of money and time will be directed to helping people in need or in crisis in our own communities.”

The helping hand United Way extends nationally encompasses an essential network of programs and services designed to achieve lasting, positive change, whether the need is created by poverty, mental or physical challenges, loneliness or isolation. United Way programs show people a way out of despair to a better today and tomorrow.

“Ït is because of incredible corporate citizens like Endress+Hauser that United Way is able to help those most vulnerable,” says Brad Park, president and CEO of United Way Halton & Hamilton. Endress+Hauser is a strategic partner in solving our most pressing issues.

The territory served by the United Way Halton & Hamilton covers communities around the western end of Lake Ontario, including Burlington, where Endress+Hauser has had its headquarters since opening its doors in 1990. Though this part of the Golden Horseshoe is often described as one of the most affluent parts of Canada, the United Way serves over 212,000 vulnerable children, families and seniors in Halton region.
