ABB has recently announced that it has agreed to acquire Canadian company Real Tech, a supplier of innovative optical sensor technology that enables real-time water monitoring and testing. Through the acquisition, ABB will expand its strong presence in the water segment and complement its product portfolio with optical technology critical for smart water management. Financial terms of the transaction that is expected to close in Q1 2024 were not disclosed.

The 39 new suppliers RS added in 2023 include some of the fastest‑growing and most innovative companies in the industrial marketplace.
From June to September 2023, ABB analyzed more than 2,000 industrial electric motors under its Energy Appraisal service and has identified an average energy saving of 31 percent. That equates to more than 2.1 terawatt-hours (TWh) of potential energy savings across the 20-year lifetime of these systems. Energy appraisals enable industrial businesses to pinpoint exactly where their biggest energy savings lie across fleets of motor-driven systems.

Schneider Electric has recently announced at its Capital Markets Day meeting with investors a $3 billion multi-year agreement with Compass Datacenters. The agreement extends the companies’ existing relationship that integrates their respective supply chains to manufacture and deliver prefabricated modular data center solutions. The skyrocketing generation and consumption of data, in large part due to the burgeoning AI market, requires a new breed of data centers that can be standardized in their design, manufactured efficiently, and delivered more quickly at a lower cost.

Eaton has recently announced the opening of its newest global Innovation Center near Montreal in Brossard, Quebec, following nearly four decades of developing cutting-edge software in the region. At the 35,000-square-foot space, Eaton will accelerate the research and development of distributed energy resource (DER) technologies enabling sustainable electricity for buildings, homes, industry and the electric grid. Eaton is bringing approximately 150 highly specialized jobs to Brossard, creating a local hub for power industry professionals with plans to grow in the region.
